The Champagne gene is a rare color modifying gene. It affects not only the base coat, but the mane and tail, eyes, and skin. Champagnes usually have very strong, healthy hooves and a sheen to their coats that cannot be accurately captured on camera. A Gold Strike x Wolf's Rosie O'Grey Dee

Rosie, as we call her is an Amber Champagne meaning she is a bay horse with a champagne gene. Her pedigree traces all the way back to the famous Golden Lady of 1910 who was the first registered TWH that has been proven to be an authentic champagne.

The International Champagne Horse Registry considers her to be a foundation champagne for this breed due to that fact.  Golden Lady is the Granddam of Trigger Jr., Roy Roger's beloved horse.  She is currently shown in western pleasure and has the sweetest little rocking horse canter and unbelieveable headshake. Everyone always wants to ride Rosie! She is so eager to please.  Not a stubborn bone in her body.  We are proud to have her as part of our herd. Foaled in April of 2001, Rosie is a beauty with hazel eyes and an ultra thick mane and tail.

Coins Spice of Gold x Queen Maud

Amber, is also an Amber Champagne but her eyes are a beautiful light green and her mane and tail are a little lighter than Rosie's. Foaled in July of 2001, she is a big gal standing at 16+ hands and look at that chiseled head! Her pedigree includes Midnight Sun and Sun's Delight D. top and bottom. Amber is naturally gaited barefoot even though she is young.

Gypsy gold does not chink or glitter.  It gleams in the sun and neighs in the dark.

The Horse's Prayer
I'm only a horse, dear  Master, but my heart is warm and true, And I'm ready to work my hardest, for the pleasure of pleasing you. Good corn, and hay, and water, are all that I wish to ask. And a warm dry bed to rest on, when I've finished my daily task.  Don't strike me in needless anger if I'm slow to understand, But encourage my cropping spirits with a gentle voice and hand.  Finally, O my master!  When my health and strength are gone, When I'm getting old and feeble, and my long life's work is done, Don't sell me to cruel owners, to be slaved to my latest breath, But grant me the untold blessing of a quick and painless death; That, as you have always found me a patient and loyal friend, The years of my faithful service may be crowned by a peaceful end.  I plead in the name of the Savior, Who cares when the sparrows fall.  Who was born in a lowly stable, and knows, and loves us all!  Anonymous
