LIVE BREEDING
Payment of 1/2 of the total stud fee, which shall serve as a booking fee and is NON-refundable, along with a signed copy of the breeding contract must be received either prior to the arrival of the mare or upon the mare's arrival. The balance of the stud fee is due when the mare arrives for breeding. It is the mare owner's responsibility to inform Camelot when the mare is checked and and/or declared in foal. We recommend that the mare owner has the mare pregnancy checked by a licensed veterinarian within 60 days after the last breeding date. If the mare is being boarded at Camelot, we can have our own vet check the mare and will require the vet fee in advance at your request. The Live foal guarantee may be deemed invalid if not checked within the 60 day time frame. The mare owner is responsible for all legal and collection fees. Foal registration papers and breeding certificates will not be issued or signed until the account is in good standing.
We offer trailer breeding as well as boarding. For trailer breeding, the mare may be brought every other day while the mare is in heat. Arriving mares must be accompanied by a veterinarian statement that all innoculations are up to date along with a negative coggins and rear shoes must be removed. Problem mares will not be accepted.
Although we do not require it, we suggest that you have your vet perform a uterine cytology and culture on maiden mares and those that have demonstrated problems in conceiving. This could save you a lot of time and money. Mares are accepted for live breeding between March and October.
Mare Care: Mare owner may choose to board mare once determined that the mare is in heat and should stay thru the duration of her cycle. If you know her heat cycle, it is best to bring her in at least two days prior to breeding to get her acclimated to the surroundings and the stallion. If you choose to leave your mare and let us determine her heat cycle, the mare will be teased by our stallion daily until determined. Irregardless, the mare will be bred every 48 hours through the heat cycle. Boarding rates are as follows: $8.00 per day wet care, $10.00 per day dry, which includes shavings. These fees also include two feedings daily and hay.
SHIPPED SEMEN (Currently Available with Color Quest Only)
A notice of 24 hours is required prior to shipping semen by telephone or fax no later than 10:00 a.m. CST., Monday through Friday. We do not collect or ship on Saturdays. Semen will only be shipped if your vet has determined that ovulation is eminent with 48 hours. We also request a heads up call if you can estimate when ovulation might be occurring. This will insure that we are on stand by to meet your request, with no glitches.

The balance of the stud fee is due upon semen shipment. It is the mare owner's responsibility to inform Camelot when the mare is checked and and/or declared in foal. Mare owner agrees to have the mare pregnancy checked by a licensed veterinarian within 60 days after the last breeding date. Failure to have the mare checked within the 60 day period and to immediately inform Camelot may affect the Live foal guarantee. The mare owner is responsible for all legal and collection fees. Foal registration papers and breeding certificates will not be issued or signed until the account is in good standing. Our collection charges are as follows and include disposable container, collection and freight.

LIVE FOAL GUARANTEE & RE-BREEDS
Our breedings come with a live foal guarantee which is defined as a foal which stands and nurses. Return privileges are for two breeding seasons only and a different mare may be substituted. There will be no additional breeding fee for a re-breed, but all associated expenses mentioned above will apply. Failure to notify us in a timely manner shall result in the loss of the live foal guarantee and return privileges. In the event that the stallion should die, become infertile, or suffer in jury or disease prohibiting him from breeding prior to the designated mare producing a live foal, the stallion fee can be applied toward another stallion standing at and owned by Camelot Wilderness ranch. Should no other stallion be available, the fee will be refunded.
